Snoop Lion Makes Live Debut at Viceland #SXSW

For the first time ever last night, Snoop Dogg brought his Rastafari-inspired alter-ego Snoop Lion to the stage. Headlining Viceland’s Lionfest SXSW showcase, the West Coast rapper-come-reborn reggae artist performed tracks from his forthcoming Reincarnatedalbum, including “La La La,” “Lighters Up” and “Here Comes The King,” as well as giving reggae renditions of “Gin & Juice” and “Young, Wild and Free.” Snoop even tried his hand at other classics like House of Pain’s “Jump Around” and Joan Jett’s “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.” Major Lazer backed the whole set, while Mavado, Angela Hunte and Snoop’s D.P.G. homies Daz and Kurupt made cameos.
Snoop Lion’s Reincarnated movie hits theatres today. His album is set to release April 23.
