André 3000 as Jimi Hendrix in ‘All Is By My Side’ (Photo)

We saw leaked photos last year, and now we have the first official look of André 3000 playing Jimi Hendrix in the upcoming All Is By My Side film. The biopic will center around the early years of the legendary rocker’s career. While none of Hendrix’s songs will be used, André will cover songs from The Beatles, Elvis, Muddy Waters, and The Troggs.

“In researching him, I saw that a lot of the paths that he went down where the same ones that I went down when I was a young kid. He did what he thought was right for his music. I always gravitated towards him. This movie is the real shit right here. I think people will learn things they didn’t know.”

The film is set to make its debut at the Toronto International Film Festival this September. (Thanks to NahRight via SPIN)
