Despite similar exotic looks and slim frame, she’s not Cassie, she’s not Ameriie. This is Japanese-Afro-Latin-Native-American (phew) singer Jhene Aiko. Our girl Gabz has been raving about her for a while, and now Jhene has dropped a new video for the song “3:16 AM” which shows off her pretty waifish looks and her equally airy voice. How would you describe her sound? I like this song and she definitely seems to have successfully distanced herself from the B2K cameos from her past life.

The elegant Jhené Aiko is currently prepping her debut album, Soul(ed) Out, under the guise of No I.D. and his Def Jam imprint, Artium Records. We’ve already heard a sample of the project with “3:16AM,” but now the early morning transitions into the afternoon as we enjoy this brand new single, “Burning Man (3:16 PM).” The Los Angeles-born songstress delivers a typically spirited harmony over the sparse beat, while she swans about on the beach in Native American headwear in the accompanying video — likely a nod to the annual festival in the title. Keep an eye out for the Omarion cameo, too.

Watch Jhené Aiko’s “Burning Man (3:16 PM)” after the jump…
